Roma boss Jose Mourinho finally speaks out on Tammy Abraham’s open-goal miss

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Roma boss Jose Mourinho insists he has no issues with Tammy Abraham despite his lack of form so far this season which culminated in an open-goal miss against Hellas Verona.

The 25-year-old striker has only netted twice in Serie A this season and has not been on the scoresheet domestically since the middle of September, though he did find the net against HJK Helsinki in the Europa League last week.

Abraham’s struggles hit their lowest point on Monday night when he rounded the goalkeeper only to slice his effort wide of the near post with the unguarded goal gaping – though Roma went on to win 3-1.

Mourinho, though, is adamant he still has faith in the former Chelsea frontman and – after some early season criticisms – believes he is now contributing to the team far more despite his profligacy.
