Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce tried and failed to hand Taylor Swift a friendship bracelet – and his phone number – during a show at Arrowhead Stadium on her The Eras Tour
Four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski has urged Taylor Swift to give Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce a chance.
Kelce, 33, was at the Arrowhead Stadium in the VIP section earlier this month to see Swift on her The Eras Tour. He was not alone, though, as he had a friendship bracelet he hoped to hand to the singer-songwriter. However, giving the gift – which featured Kelce’s mobile number – did not go to plan with Kelce unable to hand Swift his bracelet.
Gronkowski and Kelce spent several seasons facing each other while “Gronk” was on the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When asked about the situation on Up & Adams, he gave Kelce a ringing endorsement. “I think Travis is a very thoughtful guy, and if they started dating, that would be hands down the number one Ken and Barbie in the NFL,” Gronkowski said. “No doubt about that. So, let’s hope it happens; that would be really cool if Travis and Taylor Swift were dating. Come on, Taylor; let’s make it happen. Let’s go.”
On his New Heights podcast alongside older brother Jason Kelce, Travis claimed he did take offence to the snub. “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he said. “If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets. And I received a bunch being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it. She doesn’t meet anybody – or at least, she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.”
