A RACEHORSE named after rugby league legend Rob Burrow has suffered a career-ending injury.
Burrow Seven, a five-year-old gelding, helped raised more than £100,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity.
But ‘an unfortunate event’ in training means he has been forced into retirement.
Fortunately a replacement has already been found and is training with Jedd O’Keeffe.
Phil Hawthorne, whose Good Racing Co is behind the charity initiative, said: “Burrow Seven held much promise, so it’s really sad to see him retire early.
