Rita Ora, AJ Odudu and Winnie Harlow were amongst the first to arrive at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London’s West End to kick off the UK’s answer to the Met Gala, Vogue World
Famous faces are hitting the town tonight for an extra-special fashion extravaganza spearheaded by Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Dubbed Britain’s answer to New York’s Met Gala, a star-studded line-up of celebs are arriving at Vogue World.
Held at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London’s West End, singer Rita Ora and Big Brother’s AJ Odudu were amongst the first to arrive, posing for pictures on the red carpet. It’s a first for the capital after Vogue World’s launch in America.
Wintour’s glitzy bash acts as a fundraiser for Britain’s performing arts scene. She insisted the industry is “under threat” and so all net proceeds from ticket sales will go to a range of performing arts organisations.
Those set to be in receipt of the money include the National Theatre, Royal Opera House and the Royal Ballet. Tonight’s event will see several catwalk shows featuring collections from British fashion labels such as 16Arlington, Burberry and Vivienne Westwood, kicking off London Fashion Week, which starts this Friday.
