In a joint statement the groups urge the new Prime Minister to deliver on the long-delayed Renters’ Reform Bill which includes a commitment to abolish no-fault evictions
A coalition of over a dozen charities and campaign groups are demanding Rishi Sunak finally deliver on long-delayed reforms to renters’ rights.
They include a pledge first made by former Prime Minister Theresa May in 2018 to abolish no-fault evictions – giving tenants greater protections.
Boris Johnson’s Government had outlined plans for a Renters’ Reform Bill but the policies were thrown into doubt by Liz Truss’s short-lived administration.
Expressing concerns over the political paralysis at Westminster, the groups have signed a joint statement urging the new PM to honour the reforms.
