Every home that is built creates an opportunity, whether it is the chance for a young adult to move out of their childhood house, somewhere for an elderly household to downsize, or the first property that a couple buys, with which comes the stability to get married and raise a family.
That is why I am proud of this government’s strong record. This parliament we have achieved the highest single year of delivery (243,000 homes) in more than three decades, and we are on track to meet the manifesto commitment to build one million new homes over the parliament, continuing our progress towards achieving 300,000 new homes a year.
