 A poisonous beef wellington which is thought may have killed three people was served by a woman trying to get back together with her ex-husband. Erin Patterson, 48, invited her ex-husband Simon Patterson to their former shared home for a beef wellington lunch with his parents Gail and Don Patterson on July 29. His aunt Heather Wilkinson and her pastor husband Ian were also present as part of the church mediation, MailOnline reports. But Simon pulled out last minute, meaning he never consumed the reportedly lethal beef wellington pie which may have been behind the death of both his parents and Ms Wilkinson. Mr Wilkinson, a Korumburra Baptist Church pastor, remains in a serious condition in hospital. A friend of Simon's said: 'Simon was supposed to go there for lunch but he pulled out at the last minute, otherwise he would be in that death bed too. 'She wanted to get back with Simon and the family didn't want Simon to get back with her. This wasn't just a lunch, it was an intervention with the pastor as mediator.' There were two children, believed to be Ms and Mr Patterson's, at the lunch but they are not thought to have eaten the same food as those who became ill.
