Of those, 448 reviewers awarded the restaurant the rating of 'excellent', the highest mark possible. One reviewer, identified as Amar, said: "Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and good service. Food was nicely presented and had good flavours throughout the menu. Very nice desserts." While another recent review said: "This part of the West Midlands is not short of good curry joints, but this place definitely excels, both in the range and the quality of food on offer. 'Decor and service are both superb. We have visited three times and have not been disappointed. Recommended." But Myles did not share a similar meal in comparison to other recent reviews. Rating his time at Five Spice just three out of five stars, his review headline simply said: "Going downhill".
