Resident Evil 9 will be out in 2025 claims survival horror insider

Capcom is alleged to have a plan for new Resident Evil games that goes all the way up to 2029, with the first new reveal due next year.

As recent sales figures make clear, Capcom has been enjoying a very successful 2023, with Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter 6 both doing even better than expected. Capcom hasn’t announced what’s coming next, but they are already talking about a major new unannounced game for next year, which seems most likely to be Monster Hunter: World 2.

A new Resident Evil seems unlikely, given how there’s been no official hint about Resident Evil 9 or a new remake, and indeed the latest rumour suggests the next mainline entry won’t appear until 2025.

However, a reveal is expected next year, which is going to be an interesting one as there’s currently no clue as to what direction Capcom is going to go, since the Winters saga has already concluded.

Although initially it seemed as if Resident Evil 7 was meant to be the start of a trilogy, the story of Ethan and Rose Winters was brought to an abrupt conclusion in Resident Evil Village’s story DLC.
