Sen Josh Hawley hit out at his own party after the Democrats managed to retain control of the Senate after Catherine Cortez Masto won a crucial election in Nevada, cementing a narrow midterm election win for the Democrats.Now, all eyes are on whether the Republicans can flip control of the House and salvage something from a bruising election battle.But Sen Hawley said it’s time to “bury” the party, blaming the GOP leadership for their “mistake” in election strategy, which he claimed brought nothing new to working-class voters.’The old party is dead,’ the Missouri Senator said in a tweet on Saturday night. ‘Time to bury it. Build something new”, he added.In a previous tweet, following election day last Tuesday, Mr Hawley said: “You can’t expect independent voters to vote Republican unless you give them an agenda they care about”.
