Racehorse owner’s children dispute £12m will in court

Two of Reg Bond’s four children claim his final will – which handed most of his fortune to the other siblings – is invalid

A racehorse owner’s multi-million pound will battle has been brought to court by two of his four children, who have been effectively cut out.

Reg Bond, a self-made horse racing tycoon, carved out a multimillion-pound rubber tyre empire before turning his hand to racehorse training and breeding, producing a string of winners, many of which bore his family name.

However the larger-than-life character died in March last year, aged 77, and his four children – Graham, Charlie, Mike and Lindsay – are now embroiled in a court dispute over the validity of his last will.

Bond and his wife, Betty, both had a “longstanding” determination to share the family fortune equally between all four children, it is claimed.
