France and Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe missed his team’s first game of the Ligue 1 campaign against Lorient, with Luis Enrique’s side drawing a blank in his absence
Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Kylian Mbappe is being reintegrated into their first-team squad.
“Following very constructive, positive talks between PSG and Kylian Mbappé before the game vs Lorient, the player has been reinstated into first team training squad this morning,” a statement from the club read. Mbappe wasn’t part of the squad for the Lorient game.
PSG were held to a goalless draw in their first game of the season under new manager Luis Enrique, with Mbappe and fellow forward Neymar left out of the squad. Summer signings Lee Kang-in, Goncalo Ramos and Marco Asensio made up the front three.
It had earlier been reported that PSG and Mbappe were ready to return to the negotiating table with Mbappe. The forward had previously indicated he would not be exercising an option to extend his deal with the club beyond 2024, meaning he would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in the new year.
