PS5 console to get £75 price cut to £405 claims source

Almost a year after Sony made the PS5 more expensive, it’s claimed that the standard edition of the console is about to drop in price.

One of the most common issues with modern gaming is just how expensive it is. Everything about it has steadily increased in price over the last few years, with more and more publishers following Sony’s example of charging £70 for games.

Sony also caught flack last year for raising the price of the already costly PlayStation 5 by £30; a decision it blamed on inflation – even though the US was somehow the only country not to suffer from the increase.

However, it’s recently been claimed that the opposite is about to happen, and that Sony is planning a price cut for the standard edition of the PlayStation 5, aka the one with a disc drive.

There’s no mention of this price cut applying to the console’s Digital Edition (which has no disc drive and costs £389.99), but the standard edition is said to be inline for a £75 price cut – more than double last year’s price rise.
