Apple has added some powerful new privacy features to Safari which will keep your Internet history more secure than ever before – you just need to activate the new settings on your iPhone
Your Internet history is about to become much more private, thanks to some major new updates to the iPhone. Apple has launched the beta version of iOS 17, giving you access to the latest iteration of the iPhone operating system-as well as some powerful new privacy features.
Most people already know that the Safari browser comes with a Private Browsing Mode, which stops it from keeping a record of your Internet history on your device or sharing this with other websites.
However, this isn’t completely anonymous as your internet provider is still able to keep a record of your activity. Plus, if you accidentally leave a Private Browsing Window open and hand your phone to someone else, your browsing information will still be there to see.
That’s why Apple has sought to add an extra layer of protection with Locked Private Browsing Windows. What it does is protect your private browsing window with Touch ID or Face ID, so even if your iPhone is unlocked, you’ll need to approve access with your fingerprint or face.
