The Lionesses, preparing for their World Cup final in Sydney against Spain, have received a good luck message from Prince William and Princess Charlotte, who are missing the match
Prince William and his daughter Princess Charlotte have joined the millions of Brits wishing the Lionesses good luck in tomorrow’s eagerly anticipated World Cup final, with a sweet video.
The future king, who is not travelling to Australia for England’s clash with Spain, posted the video to X, formerly Twitter this afternoon. He said: “Lionesses, we want to send you a huge good luck for tomorrow.
“We’re sorry we can’t be there in person, but we’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved and the millions you’ve inspired here and around the world. So go out there tomorrow and really enjoy yourselves.”
Charlotte, holding a football as she sat next to her father on a bench, added: “Good luck, Lionesses.” It is understood the heir to the throne decided not to travel to the Lionesses’ final because a trip Down Under would have involved flying across the world for a very short period of time, and there were other ways he could show support for the team. Instead, he will watch the match on television as he cheers the Lionesses on.
