The Princess of Wales revealed her youngest son’s poignant response when he was told that his beloved great-grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth, had passed away
The Queen passed away a year ago today, and while the news sent shockwaves throughout the globe, there were none more devastated than the royal family themselves, who not only lost their monarch but also their mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
But when told about the passing of his great-grandma, five-year-old Prince Louis had some rather poignant and touching things to say. The Princess of Wales revealed what her youngest child had said while looking at tributes to the Queen laid at Windsor Castle shortly after her death last year, when she made a surprise visit alongside her husband, Prince William, his brother Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle.
The royals also stopped to chat with well-wishers at the castle, and among those in the crowd was Banita Ranow, 28, who said she heard Kate tell children next to her about what her youngest son Louis had said about the Queen’s death after she passed away at the age of 96. She said Kate told the children: “Louis said at least Grannie is with great grandpa now.”
Ms Ranow said Kate was “welling up” as she spoke to the children, who stood next to her. Louis is one of the Queen and the late Prince Philip’s 12 great-grandchildren and just months before the Queen’s death, he was pictured with his older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the late monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
