Prince Harry ‘unable to cry’ after Princess Diana’s death until moment many years later

Prince Harry’s new docuseries Heart of Invictus recently debuted on Netflix, and it follows the former working royal as he prepares for the 2022 Invictus Games

Prince Harry confessed he was “unable to feel or cry” after the tragic death of his mum Princess Diana until a “circumstance” many years later.

The 38-year-old made the admission during an episode of his new Netflix docu-series, Heart of Invictus, which follows him and other organisers, as well as the brave military veterans taking part from around the world, as they geared up for last year’s Invictus Games. During one episode, Harry takes time out from his busy schedule to speak to Darrell Ling from Team Canada. He began asking him about his tattoos, and as the rower stood up to show him, he joked: “If it’s on your a*s, I don’t know if I want to see it!”

The athlete spoke about his “demons”, and said he was discouraged from participating even though the coaches wanted him to compete. “You get these things, and you take them off your shoulder. Sometimes it comes back, you punch them in the face, and just (say) ‘Get out of my head,” Darrell explained as Harry listened intently.

“I’m glad that you have been through this stuff. And know how we feel,” he told the prince. Looking contemplative, Harry said he “can’t pretend” to know what other veterans have been through, but he admitted it had been tough for him to battle his own mental health demons.
