Prince Harry to release memoir Spare (Image: Getty)The Prince of Wales now has three children of his own. And he wasn’t cast aside by his brother. In fact, it was Prince William who first noticed his brother was struggling, and encouraged him to seek ‘professional help’ with his mental health struggles.Together with Kate, the two brothers launched the ‘Heads Together’ campaign in 2017, tackling the stigma of mental health under the umbrella of their Royal Foundation. Maybe Harry will use the book to praise the achievements the trio made – but I wouldn’t hold out much hope. No, it’s the fights inside The Firm which will likely fill the pages of this eagerly-awaited memoir.Palace officials are bracing themselves for what’s coming.Over the weekend, Robert Hardman, the respected Royal biographer, told my colleagues on GB News he doesn’t expect Harry to throw the Royal Family under the bus.I’m not so sure about that. I think Prince Harry still clearly feels a need to vent his frustrations, and I doubt he will hold back in the pages of this book. His massive fee for the memoir also comes at a price. The publishers want revelations and lots of them.Harry’s biggest problem is timing. Whatever bitterness he may hold towards the Royal Family, Harry needs to also remember he is hugely privileged.Despite donating some of the proceeds to charity, many believe Harry is cashing in at a time many ordinary folks are choosing between heating and eating. However he tries to spin it, his complaints will risk appearing petty by comparison to the struggles people are now facing across the UK.That’s why many members of the general public find the release of this book difficult to understand, and there’s a danger that a lot of people won’t forgive Harry. His other problem is his father has never been more popular. Recent polls show that the public has more affection now for the King and for Camilla than ever before. One poll saw 24 percent of Brits say their opinion of Charles had improved since he became King. While well over half – 58 percent – reckon he’ll be a good King.William and Kate have a 70 percent approval rating compared to 40 for Harry and Meghan. So it will take something extraordinary from Harry to change the public’s perception. All of that said, the Royal Family and their courtiers are busy coming up with a strategy to try and respond to this unknown threat. They are worried. And for an institution used to order and routine, and running like clockwork, not knowing remains their ultimate nightmare. At least with The Crown, courtiers have had a drip, drip feed of the problems coming down the track with each new season that lands on Netflix. But Harry’s memoir is so secretive that it wouldn’t surprise me if Buckingham Palace finds out what’s in it at the same time as everybody else. And that will cast a huge shadow over Christmas for the new King, and for the Prince of Wales, whose strained relationship with Harry now risks being destroyed for good.As the firm gathers for festivities, for the first time since Her Majesty’s death, SPARE remains the ultimate Nightmare Before Christmas.Only Harry himself truly knows what horrors he’s about to unleash.Comment by Cameron Walker, Royal Reporter GB News
