Bringing 35-plus years of experience to the festival, Primal Scream found their success after delivering era-defining albums from Screamadelica to Riot City Blues. Formed by frontman Bobbie Gillespie, the band created their own unique sound by breaking down musical boundaries and spanning a plethora of genres – from psychedelic pop to degenerate rock'n'roll, euphoric rave and industrial gloom. Releasing one classic hit after another, the Scottish natives cemented their position as part of Britain's musical heritage. Joining their fellow rock legends, Happy Mondays confirmed their spot on the roster for the Margate rock fest. Hailing from Salford, Happy Mondays were one of the most influential bands of the 80s and 90s and continue to tour around the world with their timeless hits. Acid house, funk, psychedelia and indie influenced the six-piece band and they quickly became an important part of Manchester's music scene. With hits including Kinky Afro, the Happy Mondays added Margate to the summer months of their tour schedule after announcing their first North American tour in 14 years. In addition to the exclusive once-off event, the summer series in the Kent seaside town will include the Soundcrash Funk and Soul Weekender.
