Pride of Britain finalists

As we count down the days to this year’s Pride of Britain Awards, our four incredible finalists for the Prince’s Trust Young Achiever award share their inspirational stories

The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, with TSB, will be on ITV in the autumn, these are some of the finalists.

Tskenya-Sarah Frazer, 29, faced a number of challenges growing up. The youngest of five, she became a carer to her mum Cleo in her teens and was bullied at school. At university, she encountered racial microaggressions which impacted on her already fragile mental health.

Just a few years later, Tskenya, who was diagnosed with ADHD in her early 20s, dedicates her life to her community as chair of her tenants’ association in East London, helping to provide social activities for young people and the elderly – all while running a successful shoe brand she launched after teaming up with The Prince’s Trust.

“I’ve lived in the same estate with my mum practically all my life,” says Tskenya, from Hackney. “I’ve been chair for five years now and I absolutely love it. I’m really passionate about social mobility and community. I feel impassioned to take the kids from the place I grew up out to museums, to take them to the pantomime. I love helping provide a social life for the older people too. When I think of what the community has given me, it’s up to me to give back. It’s the pleasure of my life.”
