Premier League 2023/24 start and end dates confirmed as mid-season break returns

There will be 76 clear days between the end of the current Premier League season and the start of the 2023/24 campaign, which is due to begin in mid-June next year

The 2023/24 Premier League season will commence on Saturday 12 August 2023, two-and-a-half months after the previous campaign draws to a close.

The final round of fixtures this term is scheduled for Sunday 28 May 2023, when all 20 teams will be in action at the same time, as is the division’s custom. The FA Cup final and Champions League final are scheduled for Saturdays 3 and 10 June respectively, with the Europa League final on Wednesday 31 May and Europa Conference League final seven days later.

This means any Premier League side – or sides – which reaches the Champions League final will have just over two months to prepare for the new season, while there is an international break in mid-to-late June to accommodate Euro 2024 qualifying.

The final round of fixtures next season will be played on Sunday 19 May 2024. Schedulers have breathed a sigh of relief as there is no Winter World cup to account for and no coronavirus postponements expected. Instead, there will be a mid-season break between 13 and 20 January 2024.
