Preferred new Worcester owners planning Drive To Survive-style documentary

Stricken club may become latest subject of fly-on-the-wall documentary series charting its rise from the ashes

The consortium named as the preferred bidder of Worcester Warriors plans to turn its attempt to rescue the stricken club into Britain’s next major sports documentary.

Telegraph Sport can reveal that a Drive to Survive-style film or series is at the heart of takeover plans by Atlas Worcester Warriors RFC, which administrators confirmed on Sunday had been chosen as Warriors’ prospective new owner ahead of a group fronted by Steve Diamond.

Among those involved in the winning US-funded bid headed up by Jim O’Toole, the former Worcester chief executive, is Pierre Akinroluyo, a documentary maker and one of three directors of Minnesota-based firm Total Compliance Solutions.

A European offshoot of the company, with a registered address in Worcester, was formed last week ahead of Atlas being named as Warriors’ preferred bidder.
