 Police vans and mounted officers have moved into position in Oxford Street after a TikTok video urging criminals to target the area went viral. The Met Police is bracing itself for a potential crime spree in the popular central London hotspot in response to the social media clip threatening a 'robbery' at JD Sports. In the widely shared post, yobs have been encouraged to don a 'bally and gloves' in a poster which said: 'Don't come if you can't run.' It also warned 'don't bring any weapons' and told people to carry out the crimewave at 3pm on Wednesday, August 9. Security staff are reportedly also bracing themselves for 'widespread disorder' amid fears chaos could break out, according to MailOnline. As a result of the TikTok video, police have ramped up patrols, put a dispersal order in place and warned any potential offenders of the consequences they will face. Met Police said on Twitter: 'We are aware of online speculation about opportunities to commit crime around Oxford Street. Anyone committing a crime can expect to be dealt with robustly.' The dispersal order is in place from 11am on Tuesday to 10am on Thursday. It gives police officers the power to exclude people from the area for 48 hours. Anyone who does not comply can be arrested. The force has also shared a video on its own TikTok page as a deterrent to any thugs. An officer in the video says: 'Some people might be aware that there are plans for antisocial behaviour to happen here on Oxford Street.
