Plane passengers slam ‘selfish’ parents who dressed kid in light-up costume for flight

A mum and dad have been slammed as ‘selfish’ by plane passengers and those online after they allowed their daughter to wear a light-up costume on an overnight flight

If you’ve ever travelled on an overnight flight, then you’ll know that the airline often does whatever it can to make sure you’re able to drift off to sleep in peace, including turning the lights off in the cabin. For many travellers, being able to take a nap on a plane is of the utmost importance, especially if they’ve been travelling for a long time and are exhausted.

But one mum and dad have been slammed as “selfish” after they stopped passengers on a flight from being able to get to sleep because they’d decided to allow their young daughter to wear a light-up costume – which completely negated the effects of the dimly-lit cabin they were sitting in.

A video of the packed flight went viral after being shared on TikTok by a user named @malecastellonn and on Instagram by @sarcasm_only, and it showed the dark cabin with passengers trying to get settled before it panned across to a section of the plane where they seemed to be some rapidly flashing lights.

Finally, the video showed a young girl wearing a hat in the shape of a rabbit that had lights in the ears as well as multi-coloured lights that travelled down the hat. And while the girl looked happy with her brightly-coloured headwear, the people around her seemed less than impressed.
