Plane carrying more than 50 rescue dogs crashes onto golf course

More than 50 dogs being transported across the US miraculously survived after their plane crash landed on a golf course in an emergency landing. Those onboard, including the pilot, co-pilot and another passenger, also escaped without serious injury after the twin-engine jet made the stop in snowy Wisconsin on Tuesday. The 53 dogs were resting in cages when the flight from New Orleans crashed -the cause of which is not yet known. The flight remained upright upon landing but the wings sheared off, with the fuselage stopping at hole three and debris spraying across to the fifth. An estimated 300 gallons of jet fuel went into the ground and a nearby marsh. The animals, set to be up for adoption, were being delivered to Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) in the Wisconsin city of Waukesha.Maggie Tate-Techtmann, director of organizational development at HAWS, told Fox 6 of the lucky escape. She said: “Just bumps and scrapes for the dogs – which is incredible.”They’ve been through a lot.”They’ve had a much busier Tuesday than they anticipated.”The 53 dogs flight were resting in cages when the flight from New Orleans crashed – the cause of which is not known. I tell them all the time to be prepared for the unexpected, and the team did a remarkable job meeting the needs of these dogs today. Some are already out having fun in the snow and are on the road to finding their forever homes.”Luckily, the course was covered in snow at the time of the crash, meaning no one was playing at the time. However, Mr Hoelz said there were “200 golfers” on the course just days ago when the weather was fairer.DON’T MISS:Police officer stabbed while arresting wanted man [REPORT]Russian pundit erupts over ‘fairytale’ of Ukraine invasion [INSIGHT]Man Utd target Mbappe has already been sent transfer message by Varane [ANALYSIS] Some of the dogs were said to be enjoying the snow outside.
