During his final 18 holes on Sunday, 29-year-old DeChambeau holed an incredible 13 birdies and one bogey to write himself into golf's history books. Speaking afterwards, the Crushers GC captain described the 58 as the 'greatest moment' of his career, quite the statement from a man who was crowned U.S. Open champion just three years ago. A whole host of big name players took to social media to congratulate DeChambeau afterwards. This included fellow LIV star, and former Ryder Cup teammate Mickelson, who despite singing DeChambeau's praises, still managed to squeeze in a quick jibe. Taking to Twitter, Mickelson wrote: "Incredible round by Bryson. 58 What a weekend and win for him. "He stole my jump though. Not cool. Proud of his resolve after Cameron and I gave him a thumping Wednesday." The 'thumping' the six-time major champion was referring to was a nine-hole matchplay the pair played between themselves heading into the event. DeChambeau and Mickelson faced off in a nine-hole challenge that was posted on the former's YouTube channel, as they were joined by two of their LIV teammates. DeChambeau teamed up with Indian star Anirban Lahiri, whilst Mickelson was joined by fellow American Cameron Tringale.
