Pep Guardiola hailed the superb performance of Phil Foden in Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Newcastle United in which they set a new club record of 17 successive home wins.
Foden was the star man for City in a victory more emphatic than the scoreline suggests. Guardiola spoke of his amazement at the mentality of his Treble winners, who only arrived back from Greece at 4am on Thursday following their European Super Cup penalty shoot-out success against Sevilla.
