For anyone looking for some Halloween costume inspiration, the people at PETA have got you covered. The animal rights organisation will be selling a tongue-in-cheek outfit and mask based on the Saturday Night Live comic’s infamous potty-mouthed voicemail he left earlier this year.
The âfeud’ started back in May when Pete was seen at Citipups in Manhattan, NYC, with his then-girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders. The 29-year-old purchased a Cavapoo puppy from the pet store for his mum and sister, after their own little pooch passed away two weeks earlier.
Wanting to highlight the plights of the thousands of dogs who need homes in the state, many of whom end up getting euthanised due to limited resources available to care for them, PETA released a statement condemning Pete’s actions.
Speaking to TMZ at the time, Daphna Nachminovitch, PETA’s senior VP of cruelty investigations said: “It’s tragic that Pete didn’t seek out a borough-born mutt from a city animal shelter, because a scrappy New Yorker with charm, personality, and unconventional handsomeness could have been his perfect match.”
