Pep Guardiola has won 34 trophies as manager of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, leading many to believe he is the greatest boss in the history of the sport
Pep Guardiola insisted he’s no footballing god – and also dismissed suggestions that he is now the greatest of all time.
Guardiola was in a sky blue heaven just six weeks ago when his Manchester City team won the Champions League to complete the Treble.
And when a Japanese journalist suggested that after emulating the feat he first achieved with Barcelona 14 years ago puts him in a league of his own, the Catalan replied with an amusing response that raised a laugh but also then lifted the lid on the self-doubts that continue to haunt him.
Asked if he was now the GOAT, the City boss said: “I am not a god – and I don’t have any intention to be one.”
