Pensioner forced to ‘squash’ through footpath because of council building work

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

A pensioner is unable to get her mobility scooter down a footpath leading to her bungalow because of building work.

Margaret Barrett, from Nottingham, said work on the council properties around her started two years ago but were interrupted due to the pandemic.

The 82-year-old pensioner said the main issue is the 18-inch thick cladding which has got in the way, and no ramp being provided at her back door.

‘I am really struggling with this and my son has done everything he can to try and help so I don’t know what else we can do,’ she said.
