Patrick Reed speaks out on PGA Tour return as LIV Golf rebel opens up on merger

Patrick Reed lost his PGA Tour membership on the back of his LIV Golf switch, but the American would love to play on both tours on the back of the proposed merger

Patrick Reed has revealed he would ‘love’ to make a return to the PGA Tour, as he targets playing on the American-based circuit as well as the LIV Golf Series and DP World Tour.

Reed became one of the biggest names to join LIV Golf last summer, having won nine PGA Tour titles, including the 2018 Masters crown. The American was one of a number of stars banned from the Tour on the back of their Saudi switch, as the two circuits found themselves in a bitter feud.

This battle appeared to have came to an end last month, after the PGA Tour shocked the golfing world by agreeing a deal with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF). The agreement will see the Tour work alongside LIV Golf, as well as their allies at the DP World Tour.

The hope for those competing on the breakaway circuit is that they will be given the green light to return to both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour when all is finalised.
