Patrick Mahomes is entering his seventh season in the NFL and he already has one of the greatest legacies in the sport, but he has more to do if he wants to be compared to Tom Brady
With two Super Bowls and two MVPs to his name as he enters his seventh year in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes is rapidly entering the conversation as the NFL’s greatest-ever quarterback, and the Kansas City Chiefs star has been told what he needs to do to usurp Tom Brady.
Mahomes was inarguably the best player in the NFL in 2022 as he led the Chiefs to Super Bowl glory, despite losing his best receiver Tyreek Hill in a trade before the start of the season. Despite losing one of the league’s best playmakers, the 27-year-old threw for a career-high 5,250 yards in the regular season, and he was sensational in the post-season, too.
Despite playing with a badly sprained ankle, he threw for seven touchdowns against no interceptions in the playoffs as the Chiefs triumphed in a thrilling 38-35 finale in Glendale, Arizona in February, thanks to a fourth-quarter comeback inspired by Mahomes.
In just 94 career games, he has already established one of the greatest legacies in the sport, prompting debate whether he is perhaps already the best man to ever play the quarterback position.
