Passengers kicked off AirCanada flight after refusing to sit in vomit-covered seat

A passenger from an earlier flight had been sick near the seats An Air Canada passenger claimed two of her fellow travelers were booted off the plane after refusing to sit in vomit-covered seats for a five-hour flight. Susan Benson wrote on Facebook that three other passengers found their seats on the Las Vegas to Montreal flight were wet and showed clear traces of vomit. A flight attendant explained an earlier passenger on the previous flight had been sick and staff tried as best as they could to clean up to allow other customers to sit. Benson wrote: “There was a bit of a foul smell but we didn’t know at first what the problem was. Apparently, on the previous flight, someone had vomited in that area.” She noted Air Canada staff had tried to cover the foul smell with perfume and coffee grinds but with little results. Air Canada staff said the flight was full and the passengers could not have new seats Benson said the passengers assigned to the vomit-covered seats pointed out there were still clear signs of sick but the flight attendant was unable to move them to new seats. She continued: “When the clearly upset passengers tried to explain to the flight attendant that the seat and seatbelt were wet and there was still visible vomit residue in their area, the flight attendant was very apologetic but explained that the flight was full and there was nothing they could do.” The passenger said the impasse evolved into an argument with the flight attendant, who brought in a supervisor to once again inform them they would have to use the dirty seating. Benson also noted some reluctance from the Air Canada staff to give her fellow passengers some blankets to cover the seats – prompting one of the pilots to join the discussion.
