But the animal rights organisation PETA have been left none too pleased with the way in which Paris added to her family. So much so that they have also decided to plaster ads across Los Angeles to protest her decision. A rep for PETA told TMZ : "Paris Hilton has apparently been living under a rock for the past decade because a day in an animal shelter would have shown her just how many Chihuahuas already need homes, and five minutes on Petfinder would turn up thousands more, including puppies." Meanwhile, Moira Colley, another spokesperson for PETA, told DailyMail.com : "The posters will be pointing out that Paris has overlooked millions of lovable homeless dogs in U.S. shelters while pimping for the pet-breeding industry. "PETA hopes our street art blitz will remind every celebrity to lead by example and adopt, never shop." Mirror US has contacted a representative for Paris for further comment. Last month, PETA took similar action against Pete Davidson as they urged him to consider rescuing dogs from shelters after reportedly getting a puppy from a pet store in New York City. Daphna Nachminovitch, the Senior VP of Cruelty Investigations at PETA, has told TMZ: "It's tragic that Pete didn't seek out a borough-born mutt from a city animal shelter, because a scrappy New Yorker with charm, personality, and unconventional handsomeness could have been his perfect match."
