Tragedy struck the family of six after four-year-old twins Aurora and Kellan were found dead in their toy box, having suffocated in their sleep after managing to close themselves in the soundproof, airtight object.
Their father, Don Starr, had taken them to bed on August 25 while their mother, Sadie Myers, was at work on an overnight shift. He had placed them in their bed, but in the middle of the night, they had gotten up to play or to sleep with their stuffed animals, which they stored in the box – it was not uncommon for them to get up and play in the middle of the night, Myers said.
