Panicked mum’s chilling warning to parents over new AI ransom scam as daughter impersonated

A concerned mother warns other parents about an AI scam she fell victim to, where she received a call supposedly from her crying kidnapped daughter, who sounded just like her, demanding thousands of dollars for her safe return.

A concerned mum has issued a warning to other parents after being the victim of an AI scam which saw her get a phone call which sounded like her daughter crying after ‘being kidnapped’.

Debbie Shelton Moore, from Georgia, received a call from who she thought was her daughter Lauren, with other male voices claiming she was bundled into the back of their car.

Given it sounded just like her 22-year-old daughter, she was in a state of panic, having truly believed she had been kidnapped, she told 11Alive.

Then the other voice on the phone asked for thousands of dollars in exchange for Lauren’s safe return home.
