Darren Vickers could be freed as early as February 2023 after serving 25 years in jail for the abduction and murder of eight-year-old Jamie Lavis who he snatched while working as a bus driver
A paedophile who raped and murdered an eight-year-old boy and befriended his parents could be freed from jail after Christmas.
Darren Vickers was given a life sentence after abducting and killing Jamie Lavis, from Openshaw, Greater Manchester, who he groomed and then snatched after he boarded the bus he was driving in May 1997.
The monster, now 56, has served his minimum 25 years and could be released as early as February 2023, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Schoolboy Jamie’s body wasn’t discovered for two years after he vanished on a bank holiday Monday.
