Neighbours in Lutterworth, Leicestershire previously slammed the couple's plans to build on two rural quarries in the county. They claimed that the Taylors ripped out 20ft mature trees and ploughed grassland teeming with wildlife. The Times reports that Carly and Adam also offered to buy a neighbouring farm for £1million. One villager told the local council that their "attitude to managing the countryside is wilfully dangerous and chaotic". The resident added that 'the village was lucky to survive Adam Taylor's carelessness". The couple have also been accused of "destroying" woodland at another nearby site. A local said: "They went in with heavy machinery and destroyed the whole woodland. "I see Taylor says 'sorry' in his new application. Words are easy, the damage is forever. "How can you trust this applicant and what he puts forward?" It has also been claimed that the couple hired a digger days before the building went up in flames - and then demolished the remnants without permission.
