Over a third of new parents would not feel confident performing CPR on their kids

Less than a fifth feel they would be able to recognise if their youngster was in cardiac arrest – and just 27% would know when to seek medical help for their child

Nearly nine in ten parents (89%) feel they would benefit from more help and information – when it comes to performing CPR on babies and young children.

Over a third of new parents admit they would not feel confident in performing CPR on their child – and just 15% believe they would be able to recognise if their youngster was in cardiac arrest.

And nearly two-thirds (62%), of the 1,000 parents and guardians polled, with children aged six or under, say their biggest concern when it comes to their little’s one safety, is knowing what to do in an emergency situation, if they are unresponsive.

However, just 27% feel they would know when it was necessary to seek medical attention for their child – and only a third (34%) have spoken to their child about the dangers of drowning.
