RESIDENTS living on a road blocked off by a council barricade say it makes their lives a misery and is costing them a fortune.
Planters plaguing a Manchester neighbourhood started as part of a trial scheme, but locals have been left disgruntled as they are here to stay.
They were first introduced as wooden structures – which were vandalised multiple times – but have now been made more permanent in 14 locations across Levenshulme and Burnage.
Not only are they now made of solid concrete, they’re mounted on traffic islands, too.
It’s led to a number of annoyed residents blasting the scheme as a “waste of money” .
