Researchers from India have claimed that orgasming can help first-time mums strengthen their pelvic floor muscles after giving birth – even more so than Kegels
New mothers are often prescribed Kegel exercises to help strengthen their pelvic floor muscles after giving birth – but a study has suggested that orgasms may work even better.
Researchers from TSS Shripad Hegde Kadave Institute of Medical Sciences in India have claimed that climaxing can help the pelvic muscles recover.
The team asked a group of first-time mothers to have sex or masturbate, alongside participating in traditional Kegel exercises.
Meanwhile, another group were asked to perform just Kegel routines, which involves tensing and relaxing the muscles surrounding the bladder, bottom and vagina.
