The organiser of Oxford’s Christmas market has pulled out of running the event after a row over a cycle path that she claims could ruin the celebration.
Nicole Rahimi, who has managed the Oxford Christmas market for 14 years, said that she was “devastated” after resigning over fears that she has for its safety because the council refused to allow a diversion.
The authorities said that those attending the market could use designated crossing points, and a new organiser is now being sought by the council.
