 Cast members of Netflix prison drama Orange is the New Black have claimed they were not fairly compensated for their work on the show. The series was one of only two Netflix originals when it premiered in 2013 but became one of the most high-profile titles on the streaming service. It eventually ran for seven seasons and finished in 2019 after making stars of Taylor Schilling, Uzo Aduba, and Danielle Brooks. However, many members of the show's supporting cast have come forward with claims that they were not paid fairly for their time. The claims come amid serious tension in the TV and film industries following strike action by the Screen Actors Guild in a row over working conditions. Kimiko Glenn, Matt McGorry, and Beth Dover are among those alleging that, despite their extensive work, they were inadequately remunerated. The post was supported by actor McGorry, who played correctional officer John Bennett in the first three seasons before leaving the show in dramatic fashion.
