De Vries will be back in full-time racing next year after confirming his next move following his unceremonious axing from the F1 grid after just 10 races with AlphaTauri
Nyck de Vries is on a mission to rebuild his racing career after his Formula 1 dream swiftly turned into a nightmare.
The Dutchman finally landed an F1 race seat for the first time for this season. As a past Formula 2 and Formula E champion, and following his impressive one-off debut for Williams at Monza last year, there were high expectations for him.
But his time racing for AlphaTauri was all too brief. After 10 races, in which he failed to score a point, Red Bull decided the time was right to replace him and Daniel Ricciardo was drafted in.
Other than a brief social media statement, De Vries has been largely silent in public since. That changed when, on Wednesday, it was announced that he will return to Formula E with Mahindra Racing.
