 Noel Gallagher has angered fans by revealing the support act for his tour, announcing former Kasabian singer Tom Meighan who physically assaulted his wife. The ex-Oasis legend is about to embark on a series of gigs with his group Noel Gallagher's The Flying Birds to promote new album Council Skies. While Gallagher, 56, will be the first to admit he's no angel, his latest announcement has really upset fans as Meighan will be his warm-up act on the UK arena tour. Fans who were initially excited to attend are now threatening to boycott or sell on tickets unless the disgraced ex-Kasabian singer is replaced. Meighan, 42, was convicted in 2020 of attacking his now-wife Vikki Ager and exited chart-topping band Kasabian at the same time. His attack on Ager left her with bruising to her knees, left elbow, outer ankle and big toe, as well as a reddening around her neck. Despite the reportedly drunken attack, the couple reconciled and tied the knot the following year. At the time, a statement from his management team said: 'Tom has worked so hard on himself, his health, family unit and his relationship with Vikki over the past year.' Meighan posted the announcement on his Instagram and wrote: 'Big news…! Incredible to share a stage with the great man at Audley on Saturday. And we're doing it all again in December. Can't wait.'
