No more delay over short-term let licensing, says Humza Yousaf

Humza Yousaf has ruled out further delay to licensing short-term lets despite pressure from the sector.

Under new proposals, property owners who wish to let out their properties on a short-term basis must apply to the Scottish government’s licensing scheme before October 1 to continue trading.

The deadline has already been pushed back by six months but some people in the sector want more time.

The first minister said: “There will not be another extension to the deadline. It is the right thing to do to bring this licensing scheme in. There has, of course, been an extension already.”
