NFL running backs come together in group chat to put together plan of action

After Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs were not given long-term deals by the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders, running backs around the league have had enough and will band together

NFL running backs are now fighting back against front offices around the league with players continuing to feel undervalued and underpaid.

ProFootballTalk has reported that a number of the best running backs around the league have created a group text chain on the ongoing issue and are considering their options to improve their situation. This has included brainstorming different ideas, including different strategies that they could implement after Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs were left without contract extensions from their respective teams.

Both Barkley and Jacobs made their position very clear heading into the off-season, if they were franchise-tagged then they wanted to be rewarded with a long-term deal. That looks to be a more than fair argument, with both running backs being two of the best offensive players in the entire NFL last season.

Barkley had the best season of his career with 1,312 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, while Jacobs led the league in rushing with 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.
