Indianapolis Colts owner and billionaire Jim Irsay has been offered over $1billion for his incredible musical collection featuring several famous guitars and the Beatles’ drum kit
Jim Irsay, the owner of NFL franchise the Indianapolis Colts, is renowned not only for his passion for American football but also for his remarkable collection of guitars.
His extraordinary assemblage includes iconic instruments once owned by legendary musicians such as Kurt Cobain and Jerry Garcia, as well as pieces from The Beatles’ touring days. With a penchant for hosting extravagant parties featuring celebrity performers, Irsay has even taken to the stage himself, playing alongside REM bass guitarist Mike Mills.
While it is highly unlikely that Irsay will part with his beloved collection, he has not completely ruled out the possibility, especially after receiving a jaw-dropping offer. During a recent interview with radio host Eddie Trunk, Irsay revealed that he was approached by a Middle Eastern entity with an astonishing proposal.
“I was offered by a middle east element â kind of like what’s been going on in golf a little bit – $1.15 billion (£900m) for the collection,” Irsay said (via the Express US). “They wanted to move it to Dubai and they wanted it in totality.”
