Before his 20th overall selection by the Eagles in the 1960 NFL Draft, Baughan was an All-American center and linebacker at Georgia Tech. The intelligent and athletic football star impressed so much that he became an immediate starter for a team that went on to win the 1960 NFL Championship. Baughan earned his first first-team All-Pro selection in 1964 and his second in 1969. He was also tapped for Pro Bowl an astonishing nine times, including seven consecutive years between 1963 and 1969. The NFL great was inducted into the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame in 2015. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dianne, his three children Max, Mark, and Matt, as well as eight grandchildren Christopher, Connor, Charlie, Hunter, Hailey, Natalie, Cal, and Heather. After spending five years at the Eagles, Baughan went on to play for the Los Angeles Rams for four years before moving on to the Washington Commanders, formerly the Redskins up until 2020.
