The Magpies are flying high near the summit of the Premier League with Eddie Howe’s side just two points behind second-placed Manchester City.Since being bought out by the Saudi Arabian-led Public Investment Fund, Newcastle have enjoyed huge success on and off the field as they target a Premier League title battle in five years. Howe is now looking to build a squad capable of doing just that in the foreseeable future.But to bring in players capable of changing Newcastle’s fortunes for the long-term, qualification for the Champions League will prove a game-changer for what kind of deals they can target. The January window is a chance for Newcastle to bring in fresh faces and bolster Howe’s squad in the business end of the season.And Velez Sarsfield star Perrone is seen as a top target for Howe heading into the New Year. And there won’t be any issues of Perrone getting a work permit to join a Premier League club as he allegedly holds a Spanish passport.Work permits for overseas players have often stopped transfers in their tracks in recent years.
